🌿 DAY 2 — The Life You Thought You’d Have
There’s a version of your life that lives quietly in your memory.
Not in a dramatic, cinematic way.
Just… in fragments.
A younger version of you who assumed certain things would happen.
Certain feelings would last.
Certain doors would open.
You didn’t map it all out.
But you had a sense.
Of who you’d be.
Of how life would feel.
Of what would matter.
And then…
Life did what life does.
It unfolded.
It surprised you.
It asked things of you that you didn’t plan for.
Responsibilities appeared.
People needed you.
Time moved faster than you expected.
And slowly—so slowly you barely noticed—
You adapted.
You made good decisions.
You did what was necessary.
You kept things going.
And here’s the important part:
There is nothing wrong with that.
This is not a story about failure.
It’s a story about drift.
Because somewhere along the way, the life you’re living now…and the life you once imagined…quietly separated.
Not wildly.
Not tragically.
Just enough to create a subtle, persistent feeling that something is… off.
And most of the time, you don’t even think about it.
Because thinking about it raises uncomfortable questions.
Questions like:
- When did I stop wanting that?
- Did I choose this—or just end up here?
- Is it too late to change anything now?
So instead…
You stay busy.
You stay practical.
You tell yourself this is just how life works.
And to some extent, it is.
But here’s what I’ve come to believe:
That earlier version of you wasn’t naïve.
They were honest.
They were connected to something real—something that still exists inside you, even if it’s been quiet for a long time.
This isn’t about going backward.
It’s about listening.
Because that quiet sense that something is missing?
It’s not a complaint.
It’s information.
🌿 Today’s Gentle Reflection
No judgment.
No need to fix anything.
Just curiosity.
Take a few minutes and ask yourself:
What did I once imagine my life would feel like?
Not what it would look like.
What it would feel like.
More freedom?
More creativity?
More connection?
More peace?
Then gently notice:
Where does my life feel different from that today?
Not wrong.
Just… different.
You’re not trying to solve anything yet.
You’re simply reconnecting with a part of yourself that hasn’t had much of a voice lately.
And that matters more than you think.

So technically, every croissant in Paris is a glow-up story.
